Ingredients and Method


  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 russet potato, skinned and diced
  • 1 Tablespoon ground thyme
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. white pepper
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 7 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 7 oz gouda cheese, shredded
  • 7 oz Havarti, shredded
  • 3½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 lb. Burgers’ Smokehouse bacon
  • green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • *slow cooker*


  1. In a bowl, whisk the flour into the milk. Break up any clumps of flour.
  2. Put all the ingredients into the slow cooker, except for the bacon, and cook for 1½ hours on High, with the lid on. Stir occasionally
  3. Cook the bacon until crispy on the stove or in the oven, using your preferred method. After cooking, chop the bacon and add to the slow cooker when the cooking time of the soup is complete.
  4. Serve soup in bowls, with green onion as garnish.
