Wedding Cookies


1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans (finely chopped)
1 cup powdered sugar


Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add flour, sugar and vanilla, beating until blended. Stir in pecans. (Dough will be stiff.) Shape into 1 inch balls, and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove to wire racks, and cool slightly. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar, and cool completely on wire racks. Yields 4 dozen cookies.
