Chocolate Sheet Cake


2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 sticks margarine
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

1 stick margarine (melted)
4 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons buttermilk
1 box powered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup nuts (optional)


For Cake:
Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix and boil together margarine, cocoa and water. Pour boiled mixture over dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Mix together until smooth. Pour into greased and floured sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

For Icing:
In saucepan, mix margarine, cocoa and buttermilk. Bring to a boil. Add powered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Mix until smooth. Spread while hot over warm cake.
