Carmel Popcorn


2 cups light brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 sticks butter
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup corn syrup
4 quarts popped popcorn


Combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt and boil for five minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add baking soda. Mixture will foam up. Pour mixture over popped corn and mix well. Bake at 250 degrees for one hour, stirring every fifteen minutes to prevent scorching. Cool and break apart.
